4PM Coffee Thoughts: 3 Hours Of Sleep

What's On My Mind: How To Function On 3 Hours Of Sleep A Night

One of the things that's changed in a big way since I started the Journey in Lifestyle Design is my sleep habits.

I realized that in order to be successful and get the things you want out of life, you're going to need more time to get the things that need to be done finished.

For most people who have a 9 to 5 and family, like myself, there's only one time during a 24 hour period that you can get this time from:

Giving Up Sleep To Work Your Plan

The biggest downtime any person has in their day is when they sleep.

Most people really love sleeping, but those whe are publically successful all share one thing in common: They only get the sleep they absolutly need.

Many rich and famous people will sleep a maximum of three hours a night

Most of them don't need to either.

When you have a passion and drive to do something, you'll often put that ahead of sleep as well.

The way to make it work goes something like this:

First, you have to make sure you're supplying your body with what it needs to function for 21 hours a day. Rather than eating heavy meals, switch to light meals and snacking every hour or two.

Eating high energy foods that are packed with vitamins and minerals can do wonders for your energy and motivation.

Take cat naps. Some people call it power napping. I will go out to the car during my lunch and powernap for 15 minutes to recharge, and then again when I get home for about 20 minutes.

The trick is not to sleep too long or you'll just feel groggy. 20 minutes on the outside is perfect for me to feel recharged and ready to continue.

At night, I'll lay down with the kids and read stories, but I make sure that I never fall asleep. If I pass out, I won't wake up until morning, and I know my limitations.

What I'm Doing: The TFZ Series 1S IEMs just came in

Earlier today, the TFZ Series 1S Earbuds that I wrote about in August 29th's 4PM Coffee Thoughts came in. As you know, I had to pull them out and give them a test drive.

I'm really happy with the sound they produce and of course, the look.

I'll be writing a full review soon, but until then, If you like your music with deep, rich bass, you might want to pick up a set of these!

What I'm Listening To:

Please Say No by Jimmy Eat World

A very cool track that came just at the right time today.

I was getting loaded down by the boss with work and feeling a bit like I was walking on a treadmill: walking, but not going anywhere.

The song was good, and I just sat back for a moment and listened. It was pretty refreshing! Check it out on SoundCloud!
